Tanks costs are 3779 vs 4859. About 8 inch difference and split sump compartment. Help me decide lol! Worth the extra $1000?

The odds are people will say 900 because it's not their money. 8" is not worth $1000 to me. I voted 750.

To add - from many of the build threads I’ve seen, people are often disappointed with the split sump due to the low flow through it. Just another Consideration

I'm actually debating between the 750, 900, and 1000. IMO the 900 is worth it. The 30 additional gallons/8 inches is worth it if you consider the future and the tank is filled with livestock. Nobody ever says I wish my tank was just a bit shorter. Split sump useful or not is extra water volume and I can probably find some use for it.

Neither, spend that money on a custom tank that won’t leak
This, for 4800 bucks you can get exactly what you want without paying for a name brand that you will prolly end up slowly modding the crap out of and are stuck with dealing with metric fittings and meh customer service.

Otherwise buy the most you can squeeze in your space, buy once and be done with it.

Obviously you are jaded with Red Sea tanks as I’ve seen you post this response on two different threads. I have owned 3 different Red Sea tanks all upgrades for the last 10 years. I know several people that own theses tanks and not one of us have had a leak. Hmmmmmmm!

my 2 cents,

I had the v1 750 moved and have the perfect spot for a peninsula tank so I got the 650P.

was just dreaming a few weeks ago about the XXXL900 made a post about it and my not so local fish store across the state pointed me to the S-1000 euro braced metal stand I was stocked and about to pull the trigger...then the other half reeled my back in. :(

so my vote would be the S-1000 if you can afford it.

all that said I noted yesterday some bubbles in my seems for my 650P I have a ticket with RS and we will see what happens.

what ever you get ,get the new G2 units.

What do you want to grow, do you really need the extra 4" on each side?, and yes, dont forget about the S-1000.

All great points! Appreciate the discussion.

I have debated going custom but think I prefer a all in one system that I can just setup; tired of diy for now lol!

As for getting G2, I don't think the new upgrades are worth it. New colored plumbing and reef mat ready sump is only notable differences I can see.

S1000 becomes to much of a jump in price for me.

Keep the votes coming! Either way, a new tank is always nice ;)

I really want to get a 6ft plus tank. Most likely mixed tank but more to give my fish more swim space :)

it's not only the red plumbing but thinker glass too. there is a page on there site where you can compare.

but yeah if it's not worth it for you then it's not worth it.
if you have a LFS that is a dealer see what kinda of deal they can give you. i bet you could get the 900 for the 750 price....maybe IDK worth asking ...

My understanding is that the bigger red seas, 750 and 900, are both 3/4 inch thick. Both G1 and G2
