I have a 50g frag tank plagued by this crappy algae I think might be dinos . The tank is part of a 200g system where the display is clean and doesnt have this issue . I have been dosing vibrant for like 6 weeks . I run Orphek OR bars on the frag tank . 2 blue , 1 UV , 1 daylight . The display has 2 Orphek Atlantik , 1 OR bar blue , 1 OR UV .
Flow in the frag tank is a gyre 1k , Mp10 , and return from my manifold . This crap seems to grow where the water flow and light is strongest .
Two clown fish in the frag tank .

No3 -5
Po4-.02
Alk-8.0
Cal-536
Mag-1500
Salinity -1.026

Im thinking about a 72hr black out . I don't know what else to do . Reef flux ? Keep going with vibrant ?

Find out what kind of dino it is using a cheap 10 dollar microscope from Amazon. If it's the one that dies with uv throw a uv on it. Stop vibrant asap. Vibrant is stripping your phos and causing an imbalance therefore dino thrives on ultra low phosphate. What I did was add uv cut back light and dosed phosphate

Dinos usually form in a y shape. If its a photosynthetic type then a few days of darkness will usually get rid of em. Also may try turning skimmer off for a day or 2 and feed fish more to raise nitrates and phosphates.
