Hey everyone,

I'm super new (both to the forum, this is my first post) and to the Hobby. My tank has been set up for a few months, and I turned my lights on a bit less than a week ago. I expect to get diatoms, but to be honest, I can't really tell the difference in appearance between diatoms and dinoflagellates quite yet, even after sifting through pictures.

I currently have this growing on my rocks:

it's a bit hard to see in the pictures, but it is a little stringy (but not really what I would call "slimy")

My parameters are as follows:

Salinity: 1.024
PH: 8.2
Temperature: 78.8
Nitrite: 0
Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 15
Phosphate: .25

I started my tank with Dry rock, Live Sand, Instant Ocean Biospria, and dosed Microbacter7 for the first couple of weeks.

I am running a skimmer and UV, and have done 10 - 15% water changes with RO/DI water weekly for about 6 weeks.

Thanks for any help.
