Evening everybody.

Tank Basics:

24 Gallon AIO
ReefLed 50 @ 80% blue, 5% white 10hr total with 1 hr ramps.

Parameters:
Sal 1.04
Alk 8
Nitrates 0
Phos 0
Mag 1410

Clean Up Crew:
Emerald crab
Blue leg crabs
Turbo snails

They don't touch the stuff!!

*Recently add a some amount of chaeto but its only been a few days.

Now that is out of the way... I've been treating this algae outbreak as if it was a bacteria ie. cyano. Ive treated with natural bacteria vibrant and remediation by aquavitro. I'm starting to see more of a hair algae then a stringy, snotty stuff covering everything. With that, I believe I may be treating this the wrong way and looking for guidance.

I'll clean out the tank scrubbing the rocks, glass, pump, etc etc and see this type of growth in about a week to 2 weeks. (I've let it grow out a little for the sack of identification)

At this point its been about 4 months and nothing seems to work. I've taken these pics with all white light to get the right color out of the algae... under the blue its more of a deep red color.

Also, the stringy stuff at times developed bubbles in it and about none of the substrate grows the stuff, almost exclusively on the rock work and glass.

I would really love help in identifying this stuff and ending its life abruptly with great prejudice! I'm tired of it!!!! :) lol

Looks like what is known as calothrix which needs to be scrubbed off with a firm toothbrush or auto detailing brush. Peroxide will help.
After cleaning…. Add cleaners such as chitons, pin cushion urchin, lg astrea snails and trochus snails

I See... scrubbing does help but keeping it from growing back is tough.

Peroxide?? Lol

You mind providing some insight on how to treat with peroxide? Could it be harmful to the fish and coral?

Scrub rock outside of tank with brush and peroxide. It dissolves the organics on the surface

Question: can the peroxide have a negative effect on the corals??

Tank is mixed with various RFA's and a few Euphyllis.

Bump.... would you recommend dosing the tank with peroxide?

What concentration?
