I am installing my brand new Apex EL and the temp probe connector isn't connected to the plastic connector. The wires are not even stripped from the factory.

Does anyone know how I can connect this? Do I strip the wires or just shove them into the connector?

Please see picture of the wires.

Thanks,

Art

This is NOT a complete unit. They screwed up and I would contact them for immediate replacement and show them this very pic. Someone forgot to add the end part to wiring.

I do have the plastic connector. It was just not connected to the wire. I'm wondering if I can just connect it myself without the hassle of replacement.

I'm just not sure how to do it. Do I strip the wire first then shove it into the connector or if stripping isn't necessary.

I would strip it slightly to assure contact

If you don’t know how to do it, I’d suggest a return and replace.

Just ‘sticking it in’ hardly ever works after about the age of 15. I’d want a soldered connection on a probe.

You paid a pretty penny for that controller, make them warranty it properly because whomever QC'd that was asleep at the wheel.
