Hey guys so I just got a new 14g cube that will be the upgrade for my 5g fluval. The fluvals been running for about a year and it's time to go bigger. As of now I have the live sand in freshly mixed salt water and live rock. I'm wondering how long I have to wait until it's safe for fish, inverts, and corals? Do I have to wait and cycle it just like a new tank? Can I use the liverock / water from my 5g?

Yes you can use the rock and sand from the 5g tank but discard the water.
And rinse the sand before placing in new tank.
The sand and rock in the old tank are filled with vermatids.... would it be bad to put them in the new tank if u cut all the old rocks with bone cutters to get rid of the vermatids.

Scrape em all off and keep your eye out in the new tank.

Im crossing the same bridge but with a majano nem outbreak in current tank.
I have year old clean seeded marco rock at the ready in my cure tote but my current liverock is 10 years wet and you dont really have a replacement for 10 years of micro fauna growth lol.
