Moving the tank once I set it up. But here’s the tank & the Malaysian wood I hand picked. I tried to find pieces with cool holes in them that plants could take hold in.

As long as you are home to manually mist the plants I don’t think it would be an issue. I’m going to get a MistKing so it will all be automatic, but I’ll grab a manual mister bottle too.

Humidity is controlled by the misting. Temp shouldn’t be an issue as long as the house doesn’t get super hot or super cold. This tank does have a heat mat attached to the bottom. I could hook it up to a battery back up if I needed to. If it’s too hot in the house I would use my generator to run my portable AC.

From my understanding vivariums are more forgiving than reefs when it comes to temperature change.

Did someone say dart frogs? I've got a viv, it's an 18-18-24" exo terra, with 4 young highland bronze auratus. (they will be getting a bigger tank when they get older.)
I don't have any recent pics, I'll see if I can get some.

It's been up since late january, and has gone through several changes. I got the frogs from a breeder called FrogDaddy, I believe he actually has some fine spot leucs right now.

Power outages are fine for vivariums. You want to keep the tanks in the high 70s. By replacing the wire lid with a piece of glass, you will keep the heat from the lights and humidity in. I have no heating source on mine. The major thing would be over heating on a hot day if you don’t have AC. If set up correctly and with an auto misting system, they really will take care of themselves

A 5 gallon bucket of rodi water will last about 6 weeks for me.

Is RODI fine to use instead of just RO? Where do I get this glass for the top? I haven’t seen that sold anywhere for exo terra’s.

Get some glass at Home Depot and cut it. It's not difficult to do. Remember when you drilled your tank and how you overthought it? Same thing. Or you can contact a local glass shop and ask them to cut a spare piece they have lying around. Should be pretty cheap.

You want distilled water for the misting system so that it doesn’t get clogged with mineral deposits, and to keep them from depositing on the glass. There are tabs to pull the entire top off. I just measured it and had a glass shop cut the glass. You want something thick since you’ll drill through it and it provides some stability. I went with 1/4” which may be overkill. But the class from Home Depot I think is too thin. It’s 1/8” I think

No, it will be fine. I used to use distilled water but since I started the reef tank and got an rodi system, I’ve been using that. With 0 TDS there should be no minerals.

Here’s what my tank looks like btw. It’s a 70 gal. I started it at the end of November. Just added the anthias last week. I’ve been able to pick up almost everything on Craigslist, including the coral. Haven’t lost anything yet and getting decent growth on most things, but some things haven’t grown much. I’ve had the anemone for about a month now, and I was fortunate that it has been content in the spot I placed it, but it just split today, so hopefully the new one doesn’t wonder off the island.
