Hi everyone. I was looking for a shallow cabinet that would fit on the side of my stand to hold all my Apex equipment and help with cord management. I bought this sink cabinet:

After I assembled it as it came, it looked like this:

I added wood squares left over from my stand build as legs and put sliders on the bottom to make the stand easier to slide out to work on:

Then I added a partial back to the cabinet (it didn’t have one because it’s a sink cabinet:

Then I added a top where the sink would’ve gone and put hinges on it so I can open it to get to the equipment:

I used 3 coats of latex Kilz and another 3 coats of latex paint on both pieces of wood I added to waterproof it. Finally, I mounted the equipment inside:

There’s a shelf right below the EB8 that’s removable. There’s plenty of room under it for more modules/controllers. For cord management, I drilled a hole in the stand and used a desk grommit to contain the cords:

I’m really happy with how it turned out! I’m going to organize the cords behind the stand next. I may add another cabinet on the other side for other supplies. I wanted to share my DIY project with you!

Believe it or not I just sent this link to a buddy of mine. I'm sure this will persuade him. Been trying to explain how getting a nice piece of furniture from Ikea for an apex control board might be the best option. Great job Thanks for sharing

You’re welcome! The cabinet was $80, and since it’s meant for a bathroom I expect it to last. It’s very solid after adding the back.

This style comes in two depths. I got the one that’s 9 7/8” deep.
