Hermit Crab On Top of Acros

Frequently find my hermit crabs on top of my acros. Is this normal, do they do something beneficial for the acros or should I just remove them?

It's just what they do. To me it seems that they want to get to the highest point in the tank sometimes.

Get rid of them. When I had hermits they would gather on my branching Monti and break off branches. I would remove them and the next day they are back and with a few of their friends. I just got sick of it and removed them all. Now I only have 300-400 snails. They did not eat the polyps but they cut my monti down from softball size to half.

Very interesting Anthony. Will be watching my hermit crabs very carefully from now on!
