wait until he get 12" then say that again...haha love that little guy.

I personally think the stand is fine. it based off a tried and true design. once you add a skin it will strengthening it up even more.
that is build 10-20X better then the stands they sale at the box stores.

ask around your local area someone might have a utility pump and hose to help you leak test it. it's prob. fine but you never know. be a shame to wast the RODI water and salt to fine out.
I love him too! He’ll always be my (not so) little guy. He’s 8 inches currently I got him when he was a baby around 3-4 inches. So in a year and a half he’s doubled in size and will probably double again lol.

why not just fill the tank with RO water. Then you can just add salt later and mix right in the tank with a power head rather than emptying. That's how I did my large tank.
I am guessing if it leaks thats a lot of RODI water. but i;'ll let her answer...haha

but yeah that is what I would do to. just have as many buckets to save as much water "IF" it was to leak.

its a long slow process filling with RODI so there is time to catch any leaks.
on my large tank I was more worried about small pluming leaks than the tank it self, but ypu never know.

I was going to run a hose to it lol! It’s not going to be RODI or salt that’s a waste of my time and RODI filter lol.

Both ways work to see if there are leaks. If there are leaks yes you probably wasted ro/di water if there are not leaks all you have to do is add salt. If you use tap water you are wasting water for sure and time to drain it out.
