Hey guys, stumbled upon this for sale and it looks like it could be some sort of dendro I haven't seen before but at the same time it looks similar to a feather duster...does anyone know what it is? I really like NPS corals... Screenshot_2022-09-01-00-25-53-464_com.facebook.katana.jpg

Surprisingly I got to it before someone else did which actually surprises me a little bit...since they post the pics on multiple social media people usually grab up any unique or special pieces pretty quickly which can be frustrating...still would like to know if anyone has seen a feather duster quite like this or knows anything about what it may be more specifically

Wow I was just looking at feather dusters online and found that they can vary in color and other qualities a lot more than I originally thought! Might never know the exact species but I found something pretty similar, not that figuring out species is particularly important for it's care in this case since feather duster diets and care are pretty well known...it looks like I got a good price on it especially considering the rock it comes on!

Coco worms have hard tunes. Regular ones have soft tunes.

Ohhh cool! Personally I love when a coral or in this case coco worm comes attached to a piece of rock...I'm not sure if coco worms usually come with a piece of rock but it got me thinking about this dendro (definitely an NPS as I saw it in person last weekend) I might get that comes with the rock fragment attached instead of a frag plug. I know you can always take a coral off the plug but especially in the case of a dendro (which grows so slowly) it looks more natural with the rock fragment it originally grew on imo

I wish I took a pic of the dendro to maybe get an ID on it. It wasn't flashy by any means but a good sized head and I have a soft spot for NPS. It's only about $10 so even if a common piece, I can't imagine that being a bad price.

I like dendros over sun corals.
Polyps are larger. More fleshy. U can see the white dots on the tips ect.
Kool corals.

They're relatively hard to find in most places as well which makes it cool to have one...maybe not the flashiest but a little rare and definitely unique

Finally got this piece...nothing short of beautiful if you ask me! It's going in the new starfish tank to add biodiversity really hoping the coralline cover on the rock doesn't fade! Pardon the aiptasia and Manjanos, I just got some lemon juice and a syringe. IMG_20220903_193519.jpg IMG_20220903_193535.jpg IMG_20220903_193839.jpg

Update- lost some of the coralline algae due to lighting on the rock but as a surprise there's actually a second beautiful feather duster growing out of the same rock on the side that's yellow and black! IMG_20220928_234954.jpg
