I just bought a reefer 170 and went for 2 ai prime16 hds so i could spread them out a bit. Im looking to start a mixed reef with sps at very top. Does anyone have any idea how much intensity i should be running my lights at. I will probably use the brs settings. Im just not sure how much i should be cranking it up. The tank is 24.5in×20in×20in....

I would try running them at 30 ~ 40% and dial them in over time. However, having a PAR meter would be ideal, unfortunately not everyone can afford those. I know BRS rents them out as needed. Hope that helps.

Yea I was thinking of renting one. Buying one seems super expensive. I thought maybe someone had the same tank or lights and could share some info on it.

I run a AI Hydra 52 and it's a powerful light. I don't think you'll regret renting a PAR meter because you know what the PAR levels are in specific areas of the tank.
