1. what phos test are you using
2. what is the volume of your system

I will give you the standard cautionary statement.

"GFO is powerful stuff and can rapidly deplete phos levels in your tank to crash levels, it is important to have good tests and use a conservative amount of GFO in the reactor"

Using phosguard in the reactor for a 20 gal cube. Didn't know gfo can crash systems. I have a small amount in another chamber. I use a Hannah checker

I don't think fish care, but corals want/need some nutrients to flourish, and many here believe a test kit reading of 0 is not desirable; 0.05 or above is better for phosphate, > 3 to5 for nitrates.
