Hi new here looking to get my first ever tank with 2 clown fish "I know how original a kid who grew up in the 2000s now wants clown fish" and maybe another fish or two. I mainly came here because I'm not exactly sure what to buy I know my Petco has a fluval 13.5 kit and I would need to get a skimmer and heater. I'm thinking about getting a kit instead of piecing it out myself because I do not want to miss anything crucial or pick incompatible so if there is any thank building guides or if anyone has any good buy list that would be amazing and thank you- Wyatt

A kit is cost efficient and the components within, in a sense of speaking marry each other for highest efficiency

Hello and welcome!
A system with everything included is a great way to go.

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

Nothing wrong with the Fluval kit, many start there.

You will need a heater, you don't *need* a skimmer, that's just one of many tools to help keep your water in good shape.

May I suggest looking at a 10 or 15 gallon AIO kit from Innovative Marine? I have several of these small tanks, and I think they are just a little more versatile than the Fluval and I think the better long-term value. These do not included a light is the one downside:

Good luck!

Get a Waterbox 20, just need heater and light
I recommend a Kessil for nano tank.

Welcome. It was only months ago I was new again.

I went in wanting an all in one and came out with a 43g cube drilled and plumbed with a sump.

TBH I am glad I did as I would have already wanted to upgrade a smaller tank.

However, get the one you like and works for your space.

I would just read the pros and cons of smaller tanks versus bigger ones etc.
