It pains me to write this. I went all in with a high end water mixing station. I bought 2 50g Norwesco water tanks ($450 with freight), a Pan World NH-100PX pump ($200), two water heater stands ($75), and all of the valves/connections needed to make it work ($60), $785 invested. A few days after setup one of the PVC female threaded pieces cracked...i guess i had it screwed in too tight...and it drained much of the RODI tank onto my basement floor. Now as I work to clean up, I've been "told" I need to go with a simpler design with as close to zero risk as possible (Which means no bulkheads!), so sadly back to Brute cans. My loss is your gain. I did fix/replace the cracked piece but did not water test so you'll have to plan on doing so. All of the parts are replaceable as you see fit. Selling this setup for $400 picked up in 07901.

As an FYI - there is a guy in NJ (I think he’s in Hazlet) and sells used 50gal barrels for like $25 each on FB Market. They are very thick and sturdy and the tops have the locking clasps. I use one for my ATO and one for my AWC. I just drilled holes in the top to route everything through. This is what they look like -

Uniseals work great on these also. Have two barrels from 2009 and never leaked a drop.

I’d be concerned with used for a reef tank not knowing what was stored before or what has leached into the plastic. My Norwesco tanks are brand new and used frequently in water stations here on R2R. PM me if interested.

Prefer to sell full setup but if it doesn’t sell I’m open to it...but have a few PMs going on the setup now

I hate to see you have to sell it all off. I know there is a way to make it more redundant to flooding and leaks. If you have a floor drain a simple catch pan with a hose connector would take care of the flood issue. I have a few backups on my system to make cut down on the likelihood of having a flood. Just hate to see you have to go another route rather than just making what you have better.
