Trying to get this one for free from Petco so I can treat it. I thought ich but maybe not?

Can anyone id what's wrong?

They will not treat it according to the employees. I don't want it to die.

You can do a full hospital and medication qt is about all.

Starts with , get them in a BIG bag of water , test salinity , Match salinity in the qt , do a fresh water dip ph balanced to the bag water and add them to the qt.

May take some reasearch in the fish disease forum.

It's ich. It definitely needs copper asap. May be ich with a side of flukes. I would definitely consider a FW dip prior to placing in QT with copper.

It looks like ich to me too.

I like tank transfer method, especially if the fish is small.

Thanks for your comments. I didn't bring home the tang because they were only willing to do 30% off which still make the fish quite expensive given the medications I would need to buy. I feel so badly for a wild caught fish just dying because no one will treat it. Petco doesn't, and the LFS near me, everything looks terrible lately. They have two tangs gasping and listing to the side, dead fish, bleached and dying anemones, etc. I'm really disappointed with it. If you can't trust the LFS to do better, geez... Maybe we should all start complaining to Petco about their lack of medical treatment. My 3 year old was very disappointed that Dory didn't come home with us :/

Found this article fwiw to anyone reading. Seems good.

Also FYI Petco is having 30% off saltwater fish/etc next weekend.
