I just read through this entire thread. I'm trying to imagine how much money I would have to have to justify spending that much on a fish. Any fish. Lookswise, that fish does nothing for me. It's not ugly, but it's not exciting to me. Angelfish are not a passion of mine. I probably wouldn't have been able to pick that peppermint angel out if a lineup. For me, the only appeal would be to say I had a rare fish.

As for breeding them, I wonder if there is that big a market at that price. I've had an idea bouncing around in my head for quite some time. If I could afford to buy expensive corals and fish and propagate them, I'd love to sell them for way cheaper. I think it's a shame more hobbyists don't do this.

Someone asked asked about keeping extremely deep water fish. Google abyssbox. 6 inch thick viewing glass on that one.
