So I acquired a rainbow nem that I just love and seems to be doing well in the new tank. He moved to a new spot recently and when looking closely I saw he might have a hitchhiker. Perhaps some sort of nudibranch? Please let me know if anyone can identify!

those are messentrial filaments…

could be a number of reasons,
but generally nothing to be worried about unless there is damage which in this case there looks to be but it’s hard to tell

Doh! Ok so part of the anemone to begin with! It did shrink a ton yesterday giving me quite a scare but its fully back up to puffed up size so hopefully nothing to worry about. I’d bo lying if I said this nem was not av impulse purchase so trying to learn as much as I can about care and behavior. Thanks for the insight!

i’ve been reefing for many years and got my first nems over the summer.
so it’s been a learning process for me too
