I did a couple of searches but just kept finding people selling their original one. What are people using for lids on these things? I have mine open but I worry about carpet surfing fish and have pulled a couple of floating insects out.

I made my own by cutting down and resizing a window screen.

I would just get a glass lid made, so long as there are some holes/gaps for fresh air to get in there no issue with gas exchange, the loss in PAR is insignificant, and it will reduce evaporation tenfold. I currently have a glass lid on my JBJ 28g Nanocube, and I like it way more than the mesh lids.

You have that made at a local glass shop or just buy a flat glass and burr holes in it?

Both. I started with a piece of glass I cut myself, and I’m in the process of having one made at a glass shop. I brought in the hood so they could use it as a template and then told them where to put some cut-outs. I’m hoping to get it this week.
