I have a 10 gallon Petco tank for my ATO reservoir under my DT and I have a cover over the top of it. I have a small corner cut on the top and I fill it with a 5 gallon bucket with tube and spigot on it. I full the fill the bucket, set it on a chair and feed the tube into the reservoir and open the spigot. No water spillage. It does take a couple a trip to fill.

I have a plastic 55 gallon barrel as my RO/DI storage outdoors. I put a spigot in the side of it. When I fill my 10 gallon ATO I just put a bucket under the spigot and open it. I drop a cheap pond pump in the bucket and it pumps through a 1/2 plastic line to the ATO. The ATO is about 16 feet away. No spills, no carrying.
How long does your 5 gallon rodi last?
I don't have a 4 story run like you, however I run a 100 feet of rodi tubing to a 10 gallon reservoir every 3-4 days to refill.

These are my thoughts also; your challenge would be running tubing up 4 floors, then finding the appropriate pump to use. You could then keep water production on the lower floor.

I ran a splitter off my RODI product line with two valves right after the splitter. One of the valves has a short piece of hose on it for filling my mixing container and the other value has a long hose on it that I can take all the way to the ATO container down the hall to fill it up.

I highly recommend these! The drawer pulls out. You dump the water in the drawer and it fills the reservoir. It's been a game changer for me!

I have been running this very unit for the last 4 months. If it weren’t for the fact that I hate carrying buckets to fill it I would keep it. But I’m building a 55g ATO that gets filled by my RO directly... no more buckets.

This is what I use from Wally World. I only fill it half way usually. It has a vent hole in the back that can be closed. Long spout that can be reversed and stored in the plastic can.

When I am doing water changes, I just switch my hose from the Salt to RO to fill it up. I am using a Mag drive pump to move the water, with a wifi plug to control it from my phone or my google assistant.

I used a $4 container from ikea (filur, the smallest one). It holds 11 litres to the top, but I’ve got about 10 in there. I am using the Smart ATO Micro, and the container comes with a lid that opens with the perfect amount of space to keep in the Kallax Shelf that my Fluval Evo 13.5 is on.

Hi ashtonp,

I appreciate this post is from the start of the year, but I was just wondering if you was still using the Kallax unit as a stand?

I'm looking to purchase the Fluval Evo 13.5 in the next few days and the Kallax looks really nice as a stand, I'm just a bit worried about the weight it can handle.

Have you had any issues at all with the Kallax since your last post, has it become unstable?

Thanks.
