Tank is doing well, however I see some cyano bacteria to show up on sand bed and some rocks. Started to dose Mircobacter7 and see how this will go.

Here is an recent addition to the tank:

That scape is awesome. Lots of room to put corals and plenty and space for growth and swimming. Can’t wait to see when it’s all done. Good luck

First growth comparison. Looks like corals are like children. They grow and change in front of your eyes and you barely notice the day to day changes. Put if you look at pics it’s a different story.

Was sitting in front of the tank today and got inspired to do a little video since I got an eGPU for my little Mac mini and wanted to see if it really improved the workflow. I always stayed away from videos since it was kind of no fun putting the videos together. It was really fun this time and I may try to start shoot some better footage with my DSLR. The video is all shoot with my iPhone so nothing fancy. You will see the tank with all it nice things and its current flaws - dealing with some hair/turf or bryopsis algae at the moment and started to dose vibrant, also have another diatoms bloom after I vacuumed the sanded for the first time, as well as some cyanobacteria...... Enjoy and let me know your thoughts.

Haven't posted anything in a while. The last six weeks have been quite a challenge:
Positive: Moved 6 anthias from QT to the DT. They looking awesome and adds a lot of movement to the tank

Challenges: Being home and feeling the pressure to feed the anthias 3-4 times a day resulted in a massive GHA outbreak. At the same time I developed dino's that killed some coral and a large portion of my CUC, which in a feedback loop added more nutrients to the system for more Algae growth. Started a course of vibriant and microbacter dosing resulting in my Cheto to meld.......

Here are a couple of the threads that helped me....

Will post more details later but I believe I'm on the right course. Seems I got the Dino under control. The GHA are significantly reduced, but revealed I know have aptasia in the tank. One more thing to deal with...... In addition my phosphate are up at 0.15 ppm with nitrates at 0.5 ppm. So have to make a decision wether I should let it play out or start to dose nitrates. Restart Fuge or run GFO to reduce phosphates....

On a bright note: Getting another shipment from @tsm corals the upcoming week to enhace to my utilitarian fish crew. Quite looking forward to it.

Oh forgot, my hammer coral took a dive and ended up on my RFA

While doing better she is still in recovery mode slowly growing back...

Decided to do a ICP test to get a baseline since the tank is still relatively young - looks like anything is in order. Read that a lot of these are coming back with Iodine lower than recommended. Phosphorus is also in line and close to a test I did a day before I took the water samples (0.07 ICP vs 0.1 by UL Hanna checker). However, still have plenty of GHA in the DT that probably holds the majority of my systems phosphorus. From what I read Strontium is boarderline currently not to much a gap to start dosing, but once I have more corals I will have to see if I need additional supplementation.

Does any of you dose Iodine? Any obvious before and after results?

Love it when your redundancy’s work. Was screwing around with something that filled up the skimmer cup very fast and the optical sensor was triggered before the float switch and shut off the skimmer pump. Saved me cleaning up yucky stuff.......

Here is one of the coolest things in my opinion that you can experience in your aquarium. The switch from a female fish to the dominante male. I got six lyre tail anthias in the beginning of March but them through a 30 day quarantine and added them to my tank. It was fun to try to predict which of the six anthias will turn male. I had two front runners but this one started it’s change into male with color change just a few weeks ago. Now I’m wondering if the other one will stay female or may also turn into a male. Only time will tell. Nature is so fascinating!!!!

Added an Emergency Stop Button to cabinet - have a second one that will go to the DOS wall. Still finalize the Apex programming, but tried it out with the Return Pump and it works....

Here is my current fish stock list slightly different from my original list but I think I’m almost done with stocking the tank fish wise. The Anthias have not been on the original list, but the added nice color and movement to the tank.

2 Ocelaris Clown Fish
3 Purple Firefish
Sailfin Tang
2 Yellow Tang
Yellow Eye Kole Tang
Blonde Naso Tang
Magnificent Fox Face
Yellow Watchman Goby
Lawnmower Blennie
Royal Gramma
Matted Filefish
6 Lyre tail Anthias
Yellow Flanked Wrasse
Sailfin Wrasse

Still would like to add a Midas Blennie and a sand sifting goby. Also looking for something that primarily occupies the upper water colum most of the time.

Just a quick update, still fighting GHA but making progress. After adding the magnificent fox face and stopped feeding Nori for now - all the tangs started to eat more of the GHA. Looks like they needed to see a good worker..... Still some tuffs, but much better then just two weeks ago. The next challenge will be GHA thin layer on substrate.
On the funny side my Clowns decided to host some GHA tuffs o_O.....

GHA is gone, but had a diatom bloom instead. It also attached to some corals, hope that they will not bother them to much and will go away soon. The latest bloom seems to slowly to subside. Made myself a little breakout box to be able to start different things. E.g. change lights to blue, start feed cycle or shut off equipment for maintenance. Still in the progress to slowly program the apex for these features.
