Regarding the feeding schedule, is anyone doing a fasting day for the fish? I have read this somewhere and have practiced it for a while now. They still get some pellets from the automatic feeder but no frozen food one day per week. My (unproven) hypothesis is that a weekly fasting day will put the CUC in overdrive as no new leftover food will be added (not that there is much, but still) and also will prepare the fish for short vacations during which they might not get a day or two frozen food. Needless to say, I don't do this shortly before going on vacation.

As the title says i would like to know how different reefers make sure that all the food they offer gets eaten.
We all know that uneaten food turns into (probably) unwanted pollutants.
Do you have any special trick or maybe a specific tool?

Thanks!
I turn off all the flow to the tanks.

After doing some research about this i think alot of people are overthinking their fish feeding schedule.
I found an article about how fish can survive without food for a longer time than we actually think.
Although it shouldn't be overlooked either when it comes to the overall health of our fish & their vulnerability to disease.
