Just about to mount an aquatic life t5 hybrid above my 6 foot tank. Just curious how people vacuum out their sandbeds with all the lights in the way?

Currently I just do this but will need other ideas with the new lighting.

I generally don't vacuum the sand. WAY too much good stuff in there to siphon it all out. If you wanted to, you could raise the light up while doing maintenance then lower it back down when you're done.

Haven't vacuumed my sand since the day I started my tank (2 years) but I have an AquaticLife 6 bulb T5 on leg mounts and there is enough room for me to squeeze my arm by the fixture. Would it be possible to mount the fixture on the top piece like you currently have the lights? If not a hanging solution would be the easiest way to make it more accessible if you need space.

Going to order some nassarius snails. I only have mexican turbo, margarita and turbo snails now. Also plan on picking up a diamond goby to sift sand. I usually vacuum out my sandbed once a month. Tank has only been up and running about 6 months.
