Whiles there's a lot of ridiculous claims about it, quite a number of folks use strong bubbling of the main tank and claim observable benefits. As to the pH effect, if you use indoor air, it may actually lower the pH and wouldn't suggest it as a good way to deal with low pH in most cases.
