I have small tank from Planet Aquarium (18” wide by 21” tall by 30” long) which I am setting up in a peninsula style using a Modular Marine external overflow.

I decided to mount an adjustable height 8020 slotted rail on the wall to go over the tank for my Kessil lights.

This is the hardware I used to attach the Kessil lights to the slotted rail which provides good stability and also the ability to angle them if I like. I don’t get any seated “blindness” from the LED’s using the Kessil Narrow Reflector which is also great at reducing light spill for this narrow tank.

Sorry that I do not have the components list handy since I have them packed up ready for a move but...

The light is hung from 8020 rail which is bolted to a board I attached to the wall and then the horizontal arm is attached to the vertical arm with a plate and another fastener. If you sent an email to 8020 they can tell you the part numbers to order. Here are some pics.

Nice - looks very stable. To the same end, it could probably be mounted to the back of the stand, too. Great work!

The original tank had an external overflow in the back and I wanted to make it easy to accommodate it - that's why I wall mounted it. Cleary was overbuilt but super stable.
