How limiting do you think overall growth will be if no base?

You guys think this will grow up even though it cannot encrust any more? It is growing up now but do you think I should cut the top and relocate or leave it?

As long as the zoa's don't grow on to it, it should encrust or grow upwards.

either remove the zoas or relocate. I thought I'd be okay leaving an OT, pinky the bear, and SCOP in an area where palys eventually encroached and grew up to the acros. in a matter of weeks they enveloped the bases and then the bases died and receded. I had to kalk them back and kill them because eventually it would have progressed upward, i felt. I wouldn't leave them.

Matter of fact, I'm in the process of kalking all those junk palys in my tank weekly.
