Hello,

I was curious how long ich/velvet last out of water?

I have been getting more equipment second hand and some of it is in contact with water. While people will say their tank is in good condition there really is not way to tell if there is tomonts or other diseases.

So information on this would help me decide how long to wait after cleaning with fresh water

30 days is a starting point to ending their life cycle and freshwater will further do so as will be bringing temperature to 81 degrees. There is no dormant timetable but taking precautions as you are is best defense.

Okay cool. I have basically scrubbed the stuff in hot tap water and letting it air dry completely so that it will get anything off and also air drying can get rid of any chlorine
