Do you have your copper started at all, or do you simply observe and let the fish acclimate for a little bit before doing anything?

If so, how long do you usually wait?

Why? Just don't trust them? Or do they come in copper?
The opposite. Everything from DD has been really clean so I’m not as concerned about flukes or worms etc like I am with a fish from the LFS. Once I start copper I don’t want to have to stop it to treat some other problem.

For example I got a Lamarck angel from the LFS and the next day noticed he had a pink sore on either side. If I put him straight in copper it may have irritated it or lowered his immune system and caused a dangerous infection. The sores went away on their own after a week or two... I think he got scratched when they netted him.

I also like to make sure fish are eating and fat before I start meds.

I only treat if I observe something. I’d say 90% of the time that means no meds.

I wait about a week, depending if they are eating well, then start prazipro. They stay in my QT 4-6 weeks. If I don't see any indication then they don't get copper. If at any point they do, the clock starts from there.
