I may have overdone it on my last frag "shopping spree". I plan on setting up a separate frag tank, but until then, how many frags can go in my existing 55g reef tank without throwing off parameters?

I think the bigger questions are A: How long do you plan on keeping them in there? and B: How big are the frags? If it's a ton of pebble sized acros then I don't think you'll have much fluctuation. If you're adding entire colonies in there then you may have issues.

There is really no limit. Check chemistry to maintain values close to normal saltwater and adjust as needed.

Thanks! Their are no colonies, just 1" frags. But later I will add rock as they get bigger to attach them too. Every frag I have gotten has already created colonies and I just wanted some new stuff. I just have never done more than a couple at a time.

The most Ive added at one time was 2 meat corals, 1 scoly, and 12 frags. Didn't experience any problems. My tank is 150gal.

Mostly the frags are acans. A couple of chalice and one sun coral. The tank has been stable for awhile (had an accidental overdose of calcium a few months back). But all the levels are right on par.
