I have just one fixture over my 28g Nanocube, it’s an AI Prime 16HD. The stock lighting wasn’t bad (it’s the 40w LED wifi version), its capable of growing most softies and LPS (and some SPS higher on the rock work) but the blue spectrum wasn’t that wide (nothing on the lower end, no UV). Since switching my corals are much more colorful and are growing faster.

I run 3 radion XR15s on my waterbox 110.4.
I run 1 AI prime 16HD on my pico 4.1gallon tank.
Personally, I like my radions better than my AI prime, but I have only run radions for the last 10 years and have been very happy

Thank you @Sleeping Giant for the QOTD idea!

One piece of equipment that 99.9% of every saltwater reef aquarium hobbyist uses is LIGHTS! It's also no secret that the majority of reefers now choose LED lighting over other types of lighting. (not saying other types are not good options) But how many lights we have and what brand we are using are left up to our specific needs and taste! So let's light it up with some comments today!

1. How many lights (fixtures) do you have over your tank and what's the dimensions of your tank?

2. Which brand(s) of lighting are you using for your reef tank?

My tank is a Half Cylinder with a 30" radius.

I have 3 Viparspectra 165w lights.

They do ok. but the white channel is just too much white for me. Sadly I got a later version where the led chips are glued down to the board and swapping them out is not as easy as the earlier version covered in the blackbox mod thread.

Currently have 6 fixtures on a 6’ 125 gallon

3 x 120 watt cheap led boxes, think its called Relassy.
2 x 6’ blue reef bright strips front and back of those
1 x 2’ 32 watt blue accent over high light section

Wanted to dip into the led lighting after many years of using a 400 watt 20k metal halide on a 5’ light mover.
Loved that setup, the center section of the tank got twice the amount of light as the two ends did ( as the light passed back and fourth) kept the high light corals in the middle of the mixed reef.
Now with the led setup ive moved the high light lovers to one end where i can more effectively blast them with flow, without hitting the rest of the reef as hard.
The cheap led boxes are power houses with a lot of white. Lacking in blue and deeper blue spectrum, so thats where the reef brights come in.
None of the lights are controllable other than mixing blue/white so having a bunch gives the opportunity to have one come on at a time to simulate dawn/dusk.
I miss the halide shimmer and will probably add kessil at some point, maybe to replace the cheapo intro led boxes.
