1. How many lights (fixtures) do you have over your tank and what's the dimensions of your tank?

2. Which brand(s) of lighting are you using for your reef tank?

1. Only one fixture over a 90 cm long tank

2. aquanest light plus m7 - not only putting out some serious par but does it for the fraction of the price brands mentioned . I wouldn’t change it. No individual LEDs - no disco effect, sleek design, no ugly mounting like many super expensive one and quiet fans

Thank you @Sleeping Giant for the QOTD idea!

One piece of equipment that 99.9% of every saltwater reef aquarium hobbyist uses is LIGHTS! It's also no secret that the majority of reefers now choose LED lighting over other types of lighting. (not saying other types are not good options) But how many lights we have and what brand we are using are left up to our specific needs and taste! So let's light it up with some comments today!

1. How many lights (fixtures) do you have over your tank and what's the dimensions of your tank?

2. Which brand(s) of lighting are you using for your reef tank?

Nothing real fancy over my system. I have 2 SB Extreme 32" (363W per light) supplemented by 2 54W T5HO flourescents on the display.

The frag tank has a 165W Black Box LED.

Funeral is running 2 full spectrum par 38s.

I should have added that for the 4 lights which are wifi app controlled, cost under $1500.00 U.S. delivered to my door.

2. Used to be 2 Kessil AP700's. Now 1 Kessil AP700 and an Aquatic Life Hybrid T-5 fixture.

My favorite brand by far is Kessil. I dive and nothing else besides MH creates a shimmer close to that of the natural ocean that I've seen. IME, they are also very well built and long lasting lights.

I recently upgraded to a single Phillips CoralCare Gen2 on a 24x13x16. It's total overkill. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a used 24x24x16 or 30x24x16. It's funny how you justify a big purchase that's on clearance, then immediately start finding ways to spend more than you saved.

Big light on a little tank....
