    Used Instant Ocean Reef Crystals for a couple years, made the switch over to Fritz about 6 months ago and love it. Always mixes clear and consistent :)

    I use the blue box, but would definitely like to try the red box.

    I've been planning to try it. I'll probably go with the lower alk version.

    I’d be happy to give it a try. What’s the differences between the blue or red reef pro?

    I’m going to give the regular mix a try in the future. Gotta finish up the salt I have on hand currently first ;)

    I have been using Reef Crystals for almost a year now and is kinda scared of switching. I have mostly Euphyllia and Zoas. I also heard scary stories with this salt like Ca being unstable. but then again its not my story. would love to try this salt and prove them wrong...

    I've been using it for the past 18 months and love it. Mixes clear and doesn't leave residue on my pump and mixing container like IO.

    Same story here with Reef Crystals. I have been seeing numerous posts on the Fritz brand and have been curious on trying it on my sps tank.

    I have not tried any Fritz products. The only product I would consider trying is the Super Salt concentrate. It would have to be available in a smaller container though. A package size designed to make 50 total gallons of seawater would be nice. I'd also at the very least need to see an independent analysis of some sort to confirm that the concentrate re-hydrates properly and doesn't suffer from any precipitation.

    Fritz salt mix appears to work okay for most aquarists, but IMO there's not enough of a brand or price differentiation that Fritz salt mix offers over the competition. Instant Ocean is priced about $10 - $15 cheaper per box and comes with sealed 50 gallon individual bags, which many reefers (including myself) find beneficial. From what I can tell, the 200g box of Fritz comes in one bag. I'm open to correction if the 200g box does come in individual bags.. even so, however, my point about price still stands. Red Sea salt mixes, on the other hand, are priced about $10 - $15 more than Fritz, but they come with Red Sea's reputation and an ICP test. From my point of view, Fritz costs more than Instant Ocean, but doesn't offer much more. While Fritz might cost less than Red Sea, it's a newer mix without the reputation. There's not a great reason for me personally to choose Fritz over the other options on the market.

    I'm also a bit concerned with some of the units posted with Fritz products. From the Concentrate's web page:

    S = 34 - 36 ppt is roughly equivalent to - 1.025 - 1.027 SG, not 1.020 - 1.023 SG.

    I'll be mixing up my first batch of Fritz RPM this week for my new tank.
    This will be my first time using Fritz.

    If you had the same price as live aquaria salt I would purchase - but I think it’s the same salt anyway. You did have some inconsistent parameters last year when LA launched their salt — has that been corrected?

    I was just reading an article about inconsistency in how this salt mixed up. Wide range of dKH values as well as mag.

    Switched from another brand to fritz. Absolutely love the stuff. Really easy and consistent mix! Never going back 20180605_154538.jpeg
