I put a disc of GSP in my tank a few years ago, fully planning putting on the overflow or side wall. I tried to put it between brown palys and green mushrooms. Those corals won. I put a piece or two on the overflow and they did fine for a bit but just disappeared. Eventually the GSP disc just died.

I did not mention that my desk top tank is a green only tank and the GSP fit the bill perfect for what I wanted to build... and I bought the GSP with full knowledge of the issues that it can cause. I think a lot of people fall into the trap of buying it as a first coral which I really think any first corals more than often turn into first regrets haha
Lfs sometimes take advantage of newbies

I keep GSP in my tank, but I keep it isolated on its own island. It’s my brightest coral and I think it adds a lot of color to any reef.

I have a small island of it. Not planning on letting it go further than that

I love the gsp. Works great on an island and easy to manage. Xenia is impossible to control. Splits off and attaches anywhere it floats off to.
