Hello everyone! How many peppermint shrimp should I add to roughly 7 foot long, 200 gallon aquarium to remove/control what I would consider a medium sized aiptasia outbreak? By medium size outbreak, I can visually see around 50-75 small aiptasia.

Thank you in advance!

you're not likely to get a solid answer to this as you have to consider that if you buy 5 shrimp there's a chance all of them eat aiptasia and also an equal chance that none of them do.
The other consideration is there are more than one species of shrimp that as classified as peppermint and not all are motivated pest slayers.

Thanks for the reply!

Let's assume for this discussion that I will purchase those that will eat aiptasia (the supplier that I have gotten them from the past, Reeftopia, has had a 100% success rate).

I have always had good luck by over populating them. For instance if you have a 15 gallon tank, and you add 1 or 2 shrimp, probably not going to do much. but if you add say, 5 or 6, that seems to create some urgency for food competition ,and they go to town on the aphasia

however - to the point that @landlubber made, you do need to get ones that will actually eat aptasia and that can be hit or miss sometimes
