How much sand would you need for a biocube 32? I feel like I don't need 30 pounds of sand because it is a cube tank and it doesn't have a huge surface area at the bottom compared to a breeder. So would 15 pounds of sand be enough?

Think I put about 20 pounds in my biocube way back when.

It was 1 large bag, not sure what the weight was.

You only want about 1" to 2" of sandbed, anything more can become a problem, any less will leave bare spots when you kick up the flow.

I have 12 lbs of sand in my Biocube which is around 1 inch. I think 15 lbs of sand would be great, in fact, I wish when I started I had 15 lbs

WHat will look good to you? I like using sand as there's important biology happening in it and like having about 1/2" - 1".
I feel like I'll be fine with how much sand I put in the tank because some people dont even have sand in their tank at all

I started with 20 pounds of Fiji pink but kept getting bare spots on the bottom. (I use black plastic egg crate beneath the sand.) I added 20 more pounds today and I think it looks much better.
