I will set 2 XR15 first.IMO, I'd start out with 2 XR15's then you could always add a 3rd if needed once you had full sps colonies.
Thanks for valuable answer. On average, you need at least twice that the manufacturer recommends for a wall-to-wall type of acropora/SPS tank. I would also suggest more of the xr15s rather than one of the xr30s since you can move them apart more to help with coverage and shadowing. Even with all of this, you still might need some T5s down the road.
Nobody can say for sure without knowing your stock list, rock plan and all of that.
Thank youDifficult to say but may be worth starting here for a quick understanding of how they work, spread, and difference between the 15 and 30.
Is the difference worth it? Radion XR15 G5 Blue vs. Radion XR30 Blue G5
Randy takes the NEW EcoTech Marine XR15 Blue and performs a series of tests to find out the best mounting configuration and output settings based on real data using a PAR Meter and Spectrometer. We also make a comparison between the XR15 and it's bigger brother, the XR30, to see whichwww.bulkreefsupply.com
did you ended up buying the 3rd one? I am in the same boat as you. I have two XR15 blue G5 on my Red Sea XL300 now. Checked my PAR at 100% intensity, it is around <300 to 200 PAR around the tank. There is rarely any hot spot and I am having mostly SPSs in my tank. Pondering if I should get a 3rd XR15 Blue for the increase PAR value that Ophek usually provided.Thank you
I already watched this video, but tank size is different with my tank.
So, I wonder 2 xr15 is enough for my tank(36" 20" 20"). (or 1 xr30)
If 2 xr30 is necessary, should buy xr 30 first.
Wondering what kind of PAR value you have your 48"?Sps like a lot of light. I had Two XR30's with T5'S on my 36x24x21 tank and now Three XR30's on my 48" tank
