I am planning to start a frag tank with the 48" x 24" x 12" dimensions, and am wondering how many XR15s do i need ? I have an initial plan of 2, but wondering if they are sufficient. The frag tank will be accommodating mostly LPS and Zoas.

Also what would be an ideal height to mount those XR15s

Thanks for the tips guys

Based on my search the coverage is a 20x30 space you should be good to start with 2 and you could pick up the rms mounts, or hang them 8-12 inches above the water.

I am sure your Lps and softies will be happy

I will add to the others that 2 for LPS and Zoas should be fine. The height would be dependent on which generation XR15 you plan to use. I believe the newest generation has a wider spread, so you could mount those lower.

isn't this a little over kill :astonished-face:
I missed the part where you will only be housing LPS and zoas.. i thought it was for sps...

you can probably get away with 2 xr15. but if you want to cut down the cost and be just as effective.. look into the quanta pro led bars,,,
