I have a 55 gal freshwater tk that I rescued from the neighbors trash just couldn’t not let it go to trash. It’s a planted tk love the tiger lotus especially when it blooms

Also they’re the only non mallard based duck breed. Kinda duck/goose/swan hybrid. The males are almost 20 lbs and the females are about 5-6lbs. They also aren’t water based so they don’t make mud messes, and finally and pleasantly they are “quackless” ducks. So no honking out back, the most you get is a pure/coo from the females-!: a throat clear/hiss sound from the men. They also wag their tails when happy like a dog. So much better than our silkie chickens for personality gaha

My main tank is my high tech planted tank. 180G aquarium for my ~11” black piranha. Its about as close to a reeftank in tech as you can get. Ghost style overflow, bashsea ss48 Sump, auto doser, kessil lights, apex, auto topoff, co2 reactor (35lb bottle), bashsea carbon reactor etc.

With reefing had to take a long break, hoped it will last forever. Then, after having more time accidentally saw a pictures of healthy betta and thought why not: cheap, fast and easy, incredibly beautiful, and will have an oasis of a bright summer life in the middle of a drab winter. By the way, this urge happens every end of October-November, until all capacities are filled and you can take no more.

Ended with breeding variety FW shrimp, including variety of color forms of Caridina cantonensis, having nano tanks gallery.

Then local reef shop had - at last - the coral, that I thought I will never encounter in my life. Started the second round of reefing, at pico scale, 3 specialized tanks, and severely reduced amount of FW tanks to be able to deal with all of this.

Currently have 12 freshwater up and running. I breed orange and cherry shrimp, German blue rams and electric blue acaras to help fund my saltwater habit. They are all planted tanks (some heavy, some lightly). I have 3 - 125s, 1 - 50 acrylic, 2 - 40 breeders, 2 - 20 tall, 3 - 20 long a couple 10s and a 29 sw qt / hospital tank. I go through a lot of water. I’m on a well and mix my well 50/50 with my rod. What I would give to have the ability to set up auto water change system for them all, I just can’t come up with a reasonable way to do it. Guess it’s time to buy a new house with an unfinished basement and start from scratch. Haha

I have a 57 litre fresh water tank. Still good fun but saltwater opens up a whole new world...it may become a great nano tank one day!

Excluding the fish that have both freshwater and saltwater counterparts (blennies, gobies, puffers, etc.), I’d have to say cichlids.
Damselfish and cichlids are very much alike in looks and behavior. Very territorial, the way they nest and protect offspring, swimming motion, biting you when you stick your arms in, etc.
And then my turquoise severum cichlid is practically a kole tang.
