Im looking for upgrading my lighting of my red sea reefer 525xl deluxe
Currently i have 3x reefled 90s but i want to switch to orphek atlantik v4 or the compact ones
The tank size is 139 gallon L59"xH22"xW22,6"
So my question is how many units do i need of the normal or how many of the compact ones

Try 2 of the standard, you can always add one if required. I have 1 on a 75g, 48". It's only running at 50 - 70%.

2 should plenty for an sps tank. Mounted parallel to the front panel with about 4 inches between the two.

If you got 3, then no matter how you mounted them - lengthwise or width-wise — you'd have a lot of light hanging past the outside of the tank.

FWI, I have 2 above my 48" x 24" x 24" ... butted right up against each other ... and I'm getting easily getting 450+ PAR one-third of the way down from the water surface ... and about 175 PAR in the lower third of depth.

And that's running the light channels at just 80%.

(sorry, didn't have time to grab my lens filters, so the pics a bit blue)

Honestly 2 of the smaller or 4 -6 of the or3 bars. They will soon have an app control according th orphek, Same app as the new icon model.
While these are not orphek, they are running at a peak of 40% per channel, 15 inches off the water and giving 300 par at the bottom of the tank which is 24 inches deep.
I'm running 4 lights.
I'm sure the orphek can do the same thing.
This is an 8x3x2 400g.

Isn’t that a bit over kill? Couldn’t you of gone with one and two of the lights bars?

VanDalsenReef hit the nail on the head.

I wanted to make sure I could achieve 300+ PAR across the full length of the tank ... and in at least the upper 2/3 of the water column.

The V4 is 24" long. I know they say the spread would be 48" but it'd really be pushing it at the edges. There'd still be lower PAR at the ends ... with shading from the aquascape also added in. The light bars wouldn't fully make up for it, and I want to be able to grow SPS anywhere in the tank.

Not to mention I purchased them when Ophek was running a sale, so couldn't pass up the opportunity to just go with two V4s.

That makes sense and why I did what I did on my tank. I want to have acros in shade If I wanted haha
