29 ml of All For Reef a day (it will drop about 1.2 dkh without). Come on powdered version!

167gal, (200+ with sump) right now at 59ml of ReefCode B per day.

Just to be clear this is the stock solution that does 1 DKH per ML per Gallon its added to. This turns into about 0.35 DKH per day. Recently added corals so I have been increasing it steadly again.

Aren't most of these posts meaningless without including gallons of tank and concentration of alk solution? Perhaps it would be more helpful to write something like:
"I add X dHK daily in a tank with Y gallons" ..... but I know, that's a lot of math! :)

Agreed, this thread is insanity.

Folks need to ALWAYS post in dKH per day (or other alk unit per day) when asked how much alk you use.

i have a 115g of water or so. and with all new frags. roughly 30-35 acros. im dosing 48ml BRS 2 part. 4ml 12 times a day.
how long does your brs 2 part last for you? I think red sea liquid is not afforable so i might try the brs 2 part dosing.

What a big tank! i have 65 gallon and trying to figure out how much it consumes daily. I added 3ml a day but it actually lowered my dkh so im going double.

Is it bad that I don’t know the volume of dkh amount? 6.5 seconds at 60% speed on my reef-pi

lol

Not bad, just not useful to anyone else so it isn't worth posting.

I have a 50 gallon total volume system mixed reef. I currently dose 24.4 mls of soda ash and calcium chloride. I am doing the BRS/TropicMarin balling method so I also dose 48mls of TM PartC. It is controlled by the Trident and DOS.

So all of this got me thinking: How do we calculate how much Alk we are adding? (Perhaps somebody with good math skills can check my calculations.)

I'm using Tropic Marin's 3-Part Balling system where Alk = 2800 dKH/L (when 378g of buffer is added to 1 gal water. I wish they would reveal the bicarb:carb ratio).

My TANK VOLUME is about 38 gallons, or 143.8L (38 x 3.785)

I add 20 ml of solution daily, or 0.02 L daily.

2800 dKH/L x 0.02L = 56 dKH
(the amount of dKH added daily)

So, 56dKH diluted in 143.8 L = 56/143.8 = 0.39 dKH (the amount of "increase/day" in my 38 gal tank.

Does this look correct?

(Although this has nothing to do with the calculations above, I will mention that I also add 24 ml of saturated kalkwasser daily which, according to an online calculator, adds an additional 0.06 dKH/day.)

So, I'm adding 0.45 dKH/day to my 170L cube (that holds 143L water). Tank has about 50 small SPS frag and a lot of fish.

I'm relieved to see some of these amounts. I'm dosing about 1 dKH / day (76ml) with NO corals yet just to keep a level of 8.0 dKH. It's a mix of 2:1 of BRS (2)sodium bicarbonate to (1)soda ash (to reduce pH swings) at 3/4 cup per 1/2 gallon. Without it my alk fell below 6 dKH before I intervened ( tested with 2 titration kits and hanna dKH checker). It's a fairly new tank, since August 13th.
