Howdy,

I am setting up an automatic BBS hatchery, but I'm wondering, how many should I hatch per day? 1/4 tsp, 1cup, 77 gallons?!

For context, my tank is a 30 gallon with 5 small fish (clowns, gobies, etc).

Do you hatch? How much and what frequency?

Imo you should hatch according to your needs but for just throwing them in the water brine shrimp are attracted to light so they will end up going down your overflow.

1/4 to 1/2 tsp brine shrimp eggs will give you hundreds of bbs. In a typical upside-down bottle set up with air pump the bbs expire after 2 - 3 days. So I start new eggs at day 2.

Remember it also takes about a day for the eggs to hatch at the correct temperature.
