How much SPS growth are you getting compared to other reefers?

How long does it take to you to get an inch of acropora growth? (on average)

Yea it really depends on the type of coral.
This wild mini colony went from this to today in a year.

I pretty much kill every acro I put in my tank lol. I'm guessing its because my nitrates stay pretty constant at 20-25.

The closest thing to an acro that I haven't managed to kill is this green psammocora lol

Please tell me what is the secrets of this million dollars question ;)
Stability wins, imo.
That said some acros just grow faster than others. Some to the point of weeds.
I have removed several colonies in the 27 months my tank has been up do to to much growth.
I also had 2 green slimer nubs that based out for a year before going vertical and these usually have very fast growth rates.
I find stags to be the fastest growing corals in my system.

Totally agree with the stability make a huge different in growth and color of any SPS :) Like other reefers experiences, each individual SPS has different grow rate. I have 2 identical bird nest coral frags in my 210 DT, one triple the size in 6 months and the other one just barely double the size. They were placed almost at the same distance from the light sources above them, the only different is one on the right hand and the other is on the left hand side of the tank. Go figure ;)

Following along for educational purposes haha.
I snagged a Green Slimer from Epic Aquaculture 10 days ago. Was fully expecting to fail miserably with it but it has already started encrusting the rack I put it on as well as looks like its noticeably grown a little:D

according to my observations
the growth rate is primarily affected by a constant temperature and a stable KH
Agreed, most importantly KH. IME.

I also found that my sps grew the best when I stopped chasing numbers and focused on stability (primarily KH) instead.

1” per month would be 1 FOOT per year!
For those who voted that way I know a lot of pro Acro coral farmers who would like your secrets!! Lol.
I include new branches, encrusting in my calculations. But yes, I easly get a new 1 inch branch a month on each frag. Sometimes existing branches also grow 1/2" to an inch a month. Others encrust an inch a month and start growing new branches from the encrusting areas. . . . So, is it an aggregate on inch between all acropora or one inch per acro. For me it's probably very close to an inch a month per acropora.... I frag some of them once they have too many branches or start to intermingle with each other.

Huge growth in my book.

(I apologize for all the algae… I’m constantly battling it.)

And in case any of you guys were wondering why it lost so much color since day one, is because it got bleached in my tank crash. :/
The algae, lots of ways to battle this. I highly recommend phosphate-e or lanthinum chloride and daily testing of phosphates. The algae will be gone within a month or two. Hand scrubbing with a tooth brush helps in the short term! Just some ideas, you probably have a plan though, so I'll stop intruding! ;)

Depends on the coral. Some grow like weeds in our tanks, others are like the last rows of summer...

Well that’s very impressive. I suppose if I added base and vertical growth together then a couple of my acros would grow that much. My red planet definitely as it bases out a lot. II’ll have to check out your build thread

Sps need to be content.... like when in a relationship and you can see the “happy weight” starting... thats acro growth. Needs to feel secure and stable
In a relationship, any time I mentioned her new "happy weight" it did not end well.
