I started a 20gal cube about 12 weeks ago and once it was cycled I gradually added the following (apologies if my naming/spelling is out!):

1 x oscellaris clown
1 x yellow assessor
1 x fighting conch
2 x turbo’s
2 x scolys
1 x hammer
1 x pineapple torch
2 x acan frags
4 x zoa frags
1 x toadstool
1 x plate coral
1 x ricordea morph
2 x goniopora

feeding reef roids, it says to mix 1/4 teaspoon per 25gal. But some people could have a 25gal tank with a lot more corals and some with not many. How do I know how much to feed my corals? What amount are others feeding? I’m not really sure if the amount of corals I have is a lot. There’s still plenty of space in the tank and it doesn’t look as full as a lot of the beautiful reef tanks I see on this forum.

I also have a specialized LPS food I feed as well.

I’m just concerned of getting a nitrate or phosphate spike. currently my nitrate is 3-4 and my phosphate is 0.

I will give a different answer than most. I haven’t fed a coral in over 20 years. I’m a believer in feeding the fish well and the photosynthetic corals will get what they need. If you feed them, I would not go above the manufacturer recommendations.

As mentioned above, corals get their food primarily from the light, solid food is just a bonus. Most of us just feed the corals to get them to grow faster, but its not needed, so its up to you.

Just be aware that reef roids will foul your tank, personally I feed about once a week and usually the night before a water change day.

I couldn't agree with this more.

Feed the entire tank, not individual inhabitants.

So this goes for acans and goniopora too? No specific feeding?
Looks like I fell victim to lfs sales tactics

I’ve never kept gonis but my acans don’t require direct feeding.
