I have a Red Sea Reefer 250 with a 54 gallon DT and an 11 gallon sump. I used to leave the ChemiPure Blue carbon bag in one of my two Red Sea filter media cups and changed it every 3 months.

Last month I decided to put the RS 225 micron thin mesh filter bags in both openings and I placed the ChemiPure Blue on the bottom of the sump next to the filters.

Is every 2 months a good time to replace it?

I switch mine every 3 months. If I do 4 months, it doesn’t really matter but 4 months tops for me

We recommend changing out your Chemi-pure every 2 - 4 months depending on the bio-load of the aquarium. Nano packets we recommend changing out every month.

I am running it in my red sea max nano, 2 nano packets and, for the time being, I replace them every 2 months, to be noted that I do change water every sunday, 10 liters so I assume the bio load of my tank is close to zero.
