I have a 5 month old Bio Cube 32 with a Midas blenny and two small clownfish. I have an In Tank media basket with filter floss, Chemi-pure blue, and two bags of Marine pure gems. Right beside that I have an In Tank fuge basket with Chaeto. I am changing the Chemi-pure blue every 3 months. Is that about right or should I be changing it more often?

Thank you. I am using the big 11 ounce bag So does that matter because I think most people use the 5.5 ounce bag for the smaller tanks?

Only use it as needed. Keep an eye on algae and use it when it starts blooming too much, then pull it if your corals lose some color
Thank you. I did not know that about the corals because I have had it in the tank from the very beginning and have only started adding calls in the last month or so.Everything looks good on the blue lights so I thought I would post some pictures under daylight.

It does look good. Keep it running then, I seem to need to pull it because I have some sps that really pale out and look pastel when my phosphates get low. They're very sensitive like that, but it's an excellent indicator for regulating the water chemistry by eye

I checked my phosphates for the first time today with my new Hannah checker and they were .29.

Sounds like decent numbers to me. I stopped chasing numbers and go by eye now though. I found that chasing numbers did more harm than good because no one really seems to agree on a good number. Some people have success with higher nutrients, other with ultra low.

Now I just go by what looks best. If it's working stick with it.

I also haven't done a water change since March and my tank looks better than ever. It's just one of those things where less can be more when things are good
