The first ones are always expensive! If there is enough interest to continue breeding them and that breeding is successful they will likely drop in price. I still cant believe people are paying$400 for a yellow tang!!!

The only problem is there is one vendor breeding and controlling supply. I think you would need at least two breeders for the price to drop a lot.

I also think classic yellow and purple are much nicer looking.

If the yurple ever gets down to 400, I'll get one.

I have a purple and three yellows coming from biota. I guess I can let my imagination go wild and pretend I have a yurple!

I like the scopus + purple hybrid better. The marking just stand out so nice.

Quite a bit cheaper too, 2k. Ya still spendy but just saying.

There is someone on here who has a yurple and his fish looked nicer in video than pics we see online because when the light reflected off it you could see the iridescent pattern. His fish was also older so color filled in more.

I want one of these SOOOOOOOO badly! But...at that price point, it won't be in my tank anytime soon. Maybe I'll get a tattoo of it. Ha!

To the haters: the yellow CB babies look crappy too, but are just ugly ducklings.

Anyone have a pic of a fully colored-up Yurple?
