How to boost coral color's vibrant and glow?

Hi everyone,

I having some difficult to keep my corals color to its best. Usually when I bought bought new corals they are very vibrant and glowing with its color. However after sometimes, their glowing will fade away but their base color is still there. Wondering what should I do? Thank you so much guys!

Lighting chinese balckbox(am I placing my light too low? The light too strong? )

Example 1st picture is what is currently in my tank and 3rd one is what it looks like when I purchased it. 2nd one is how high I play my light.

Measure PAR where your corals are placed? They might be getting too much light.

Keep in mind that pic you posted from what I assume is the seller is against a completely black background, and likely adjusted to bring out as much color as possible.

Measure PAR where your corals are placed? They might be getting too much light.

Keep in mind that pic you posted from what I assume is the seller is against a completely black background, and likely adjusted to bring out as much color as possible.


Thanks, but I don't have a par meter and can only use my eyes to check

Eyes aren't reliable. Borrow a PAR meter from a local fish store or a club member if you're a part of one.

Looks normal to me. The 3rd picture is over saturated and enhanced in Photoshop (or any photo editing software), which is common with vendors pictures.

Here's an example by exaggerating the edit using your low res/blurry picture.

Oh wow, you got the right. However, they still looks better when I first receive them than after they stay in my tank for a while. I'm asking wwc what might be the cause. Thanks for quickly explanation!
