Sounds like you found a solution.

Another option in case others look back is to create a simple bubbler on the incoming line. Drill 2 holes in the top of a container. Feed the source through one leading to the bottom (source is outside in this case), the second hose needs to be at the top of the container (well above the water line), then fill with DI. When the skimmer pulls the air on top, it creates a slight vacuum allowing water to bubble through the DI.

For recirculating the air is already moist, so the issue can be too much water condensing in the scrubber. In this case, take a container drill 2 holes in the cover. Cut the tubing between your skimmer lid and scrubber and attach the 2 ends to the holes in the container. The hoses should both be near the top of the container in this case. When the humid air from the skimmer enters the container it expands causing some of the humidity to condense. This leaves just the right amount of moisture in the air. This also acts as a safety for any skimmate. If you want to get fancy, you could put a sensor which turns off the skimmer in the container.

OP, you're better off opening a window slightly all year round. I live in NWI and this works just fine other than when it's -10 out in the winter.

So finally got around to setting up my gravity fed water injection for my brs co2 scrubbers and just wanted to share how I did it. Here’s a few pics sorry for the mess :)
