just wondering how you guys got coraline algae to grow in your tank, i added a bottle of purple helix a few weeks ago but so far nothing, my parameters are in check but so far i have very few specs of purple, some green algae (which could be green coraline?), some cyano and some hair algae (yes i kno the last two gotta go), some of my dry rocks i also it’s added

also will my urchin (put in to control other algae some but i don’t see that much of a difference) prevent coraline growth or just slow it down some?

Depends on how ravenous your urchin is. I had this rock, about a 4lb chunk about 95% covered in thick, deep purple coralline. Added my urchin back into the tank. 3 days and the rock was almost entirely white. Currently he cruises the tank, eating nuisance algae on his way to clear out every spot of coralline that starts growing.

Takes some time to get going, give it a chance. The urchin won’t make a noticeable difference with the coralline. Eventually it will overtake the bad algae as well as the urchin won’t be able to keep up.
