I’m sure my cyano outbreak must be from poor water circulation or poor filtration. What affordable powerheads do you recommend for a 40 gallon? Or do I’m need a better one ? I have a voyager 2 with 800 gph circulation pump installed in my tank. And I will be upgrading my canister filter to a 10 gallon sump today. So I bought a Rio 12HF return pump. I will be using pvc pipes.
Should I keep my circulation pump or should I just wait it out to see if the new filtration system will get rid of cyano break.

Some love them and others hate them but when I ran a 60 gal cube I used two different sizes Jabeo PP series. Its cheap and provides a lot of flow. I moved on to Maxspect Gyre's on my 120 and love them

Other then flow you might be feeding too much so a way to export the excess nutrients will help

One final type is go lights out for 3 days and I'd even take a blanket and cover the tank for 3 days. Corals will be fine and that should really help start to kill off the cyano

Also if you run MH or t5 lights might be time to get new bulbs.
